Ian's Point of View
"So where are you going?" asked Josh.
"Music room. I'm meeting Riley and Mr.Ellis to talk about the recital." answered Ian as he slammed his locker.
Josh watched as his new friend shouldered his backpack. "You like Riley." it wasn't a question.
Ian's eyes went wide and a slight blush warmed his cheeks. All he was able to do was stare at the brunette.
Josh nodded. "I knew it!" he said with a grin.
Ian blushed a little more. "What does it matter?"
"Oh, it matters my friend." Josh said with a wink.
"Wait, you mean..."
"Riley's gay?" Josh cut in.
Ian nodded.
"Yeah, found out a couple years back. Or, at least I think he is..."
"What do you mean, you think?" asked Ian.
"You'd think the guy would share things like this with me. I mean we've known each other since we were five. But noooo! The kid hardly talks to me!" said Josh as he crossed his arms.
"Yeah, well. The guy doesn't even like me."
"Hey, don't worry about it. It may seem like he doesn't like you, but that's because you haven't known him long enough to understand how he thinks. If you as me? I think Riley really likes you. I mean, just look at how many times he's talked to you today! You got more out of Riley then I do in a week!" Josh assured Ian.
Ian looked over at Josh and sighed.
Josh chuckled. "Hey, just give him some time to get to know you. I'm sure we'll see how he feels once he starts to see you as a friend." said Josh as he headed out to the buses.
Ian waved and then started for the music room. So Riley was gay. Ian found himself relishing in that bit of information. Ian loved being with the broody teen. He loved the way he talked (though it was very little), he loved he moved, and Ian found the way that Riley always had his nose in a book when not in class was very cute. But the part that Ian loved the most had been the way Riley had watched him with those violet eyes earlier that day in music. The look in those eyes had made it very hard to concentrate on the song. Those eyes...those damn eyes...It was like they had been looking right into Ian's soul. And that hair. The way it shined in the light.
'I wonder if its natural...'
Ian's eyes shot open and a deep blush ran over his face.
'What the hell is wrong with me? I don't even know if he likes me as a friend. Why am I thinking like that?!'
Ian took a deep breath and shook his head. Even if Riley never liked him like that, Ian would be happy to just hang out him. As long as he was able to stay the violet eyed boy's side, Ian didn't need anything else. Ian looked up from his thoughts and saw that he had made it to the music room. From the hall he was able to hear faint music from inside. He opened the door slowly and his breath caught in his throat. Riley sat with his back to the door, with a cello placed in front of him. The music that the teen was playing was both gentle and brooding. It was a song Ian knew well from the symphonies he had gone to.
'Cello Suite N° 1, in G Major. It suits him.' Ian thought as he watched.
Ian wanted to say something, to let Riley know that he was there. But he couldn't bring himself to break Riley's focus. The look on Riley's spoke volumes of how much he cared about his music. When he finished the song, Ian stayed still and watched as he watched the silver haired teen relax. Ian was finally about to say something when Mr.Ellis came out of his office.
"That was well done, Riley. Very well done!" he said as he motioned for Ian to come in.
Riley spun around and glared at the taller teen as Ian went to take a seat next to him.
"Alright, what do you think Ian? Willing to help us in the recital?" asked Mr.Ellis.
Ian looked over at Riley, looking for some sign that the kid didn't mind. He must have seen this, because Riley glanced over at Ian and gave a small shrug. Ian sighed.
"Yeah, I help out."
Mr.Ellis smiled at the two teens. For the next half hour, the three of them went over what the recital rules were and went through the music choices until they found something that both Ian and Riley  felt that they could learn in a month. When they were done, Mr.Ellis said goodbye to the boys and went get ready for his meetings. Ian lead the way to the student parking lot, Riley following behind. They got into Ian's truck and Ian pulled the truck onto the road.
"Okay, so where we headed?" he asked the teen in the passengers seat.
The only response Ian got was an a finger pointing to one turn or another.
"Did I do something to piss you off?" Ian asked after awhile.
"......"
"Dude, really. What I do?"
"Nothing."
"You sure?"
Riley nodded.
Ian shrugged and turned down another street that Riley had just pointed to.
"The tan two story on my side." Riley said as he pointed to a house in the middle of the street.
Just as Ian was pulling his truck over, a hot pain flashed through his chest.
'Shit..Not now.'
Ian was just able to turn off the truck before he had to put his head on the stirring wheel. Riley saw this and Ian could see a look of concern grow on his face.
"Ian, are you okay?" asked violet eyes.
Ian tried to answer, but the pain in his chest caused him to breath too fast and made talking impossible.
"Ian?"
Ian glanced at Riley and felt his heart give a squeeze. Riley was looking at him with such worry that Ian's breathe came even faster. Ian took out his cell and typed out a message. He held it out for Riley to read.
>I'll be fine. I just need to chill for a few<
Riley didn't look convinced.
"Do you...do you want to come in?"
Ian looked looked at the teen with shocked eyes.
>You sure?<
Riley nodded. "Yeah. You can chill out upstairs."
Ian nodded weakly as he went to get out of the truck. Riley could see that whatever was making it hard for Ian to breath also made it hard to walk. Ian felt a thin but strong arm wrap around his shoulders and a hand grab his wrist. Riley helped Ian into the house and up the stairs. He felt himself being lowered onto a soft bed and his head hit a pillow. He tried to say thank you to Riley, but the pain in his chest came to its peak. The only thing that came from Ian was a sharp gasp of pain. All Ian was able to do was lay there and let himself float into sleep.
Alright everyone! Chapter four of my angel! I don't feel as good about this one like I did about the first three. I hope I did well enough to make you all happy. And I swear that next chapter will be better!
